Hermes Family · last updated 12 September 2026

Hermes Family is a private tool used by one household — Joseph and Jemimah Ogaga — to manage their own child’s school arrangements. It has no other users and collects nothing from anyone else.

What it handles

InformationWhy
Photographs of letters sent home from schoolTo read the dates, events and reply deadlines printed on them
A child’s name, year group and schoolTo fill in reply slips and write the weekly email to the school office
The parents’ names, email addresses and phone numbersTo send email as the parent, and to complete reply slips the school asks for
Which days each parent is free at pick-up timeTo work out which days after-school club is needed
Telegram account identifiers for the two parentsSo the assistant can reach the right person

Where it goes

Information is held on a private server rented by Joseph Ogaga and is not sold, shared or used for advertising. It is passed to these services only as needed to do the job above:

ServiceWhat it receives
Google GmailThe weekly email to the school office, sent from Joseph Ogaga’s own address after he approves it
Google GeminiThe photograph of a school letter, to read the text on it
Apple iCloudCalendar events, written into each parent’s own calendar
TelegramMessages between the assistant and the two parents

Google account access

The assistant requests a single Google permission: send email on your behalf (gmail.send). It deliberately does not request permission to read, search or delete email, and it cannot do so. It does not request access to Google Calendar, Drive, Contacts or any other Google service.

Information obtained through Google APIs is used only to send the emails described above. It is never transferred to anyone else, never used for advertising, and never used to train any model. This use follows the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

How long it is kept

School letters and the events taken from them are kept for the school year they relate to, and then deleted. Messages between the parents and the assistant are kept only as long as they are useful for the arrangements in hand.

Children’s information

This tool records information about the household’s own child, entered by her own parents. No child uses it, and no information about any other child is collected. Where a school letter happens to mention other people, only the details needed for the family’s own arrangements are kept.

Your choices

Either parent can ask for anything held about them to be deleted, and access can be withdrawn at any time by removing the assistant’s permission at myaccount.google.com/permissions, by revoking its app-specific password in Apple Account settings, or by blocking it on Telegram.
