Hermes Family
A private assistant that helps one household keep track of their daughter’s school life.
Hermes Family is a personal tool built and used by Joseph and Jemimah Ogaga. It is
not a product, it has no other users, and there is nothing to sign up for.
What it does
- Reads photographs of letters sent home from school, and picks out the dates and reply deadlines.
- Adds those events to each parent’s own calendar, with reminders.
- Helps the parents agree which days their daughter stays for after-school club, and drafts the weekly email to the school office.
- Sends that email only after a parent has read it and tapped Send.
Who can use it
Two people. Access is limited to the two parents’ own accounts, and the assistant
will not respond to anyone else.
This site exists because Google requires a homepage and a privacy policy for any
application that sends email on a user’s behalf. It is hosted on a subdomain of
igede.org for convenience and is not connected to the Igede Foundation
or any of its work.
